Video: BarcampOrlando by Jason Hawkins

Click above to watch an excellent video produced by Jason Hawkins. Man, it's good. Here's what he had to say about making the video, taken from his blog:
"Before I started working on this there were two goals I had in mind. The first was to make something people would want to share with their friends. The second was to shame all other BarCamp videos.

Nothing against the other BarCamps (or their videos, even). I just wanted everybody to know that Orlando is not just going to sit idle while the world does its collective thing. We’re in the conversations now, and there’s some pretty great stuff going on here. It’s time everybody else knew that."
Wow! Awesome!

I was unable to attend the very first BarCampOrlando because I was out of town, but you HAVE to keep an eye on this event. Next time it pops up GO TO IT! It looks awesome, a few of the people involved I know or have met personally and BOY would I have loved to present on podcasting! What is BarCampOrlando? Here's how ther website describes the event:
BarCampOrlando is a bi-yearly event to bring together people from different technical backgrounds to share and learn from each other. There will be people who know Java, .NET, Ruby, PHP, and other technologies coming together for a free all day event.

We hope to provide free T-shirts and Dinner to all attendees, but we can only do this with assistance from sponsors (Click here for information on sponsoring)

There is only one rule with BarCamp:

It is strongly recommended that attendees give a demo, a session, or help with one. This is called sharing and we like it.

Don't be intimidated by this, just think about what you're passionate about and come give a talk on it. It could be anything... an operating system you use, a language you program with, a website you like, an application demo, or how to wash your cat.
Even if you are an artist and non-techie, GO! I think arts professionals would benefit greatly from hearing experts talk about this stuff and being around it. So few arts orgs embrace the web and THIS is the perfect place to at least dip your toe in and see what is possible. Well, this and BlogOrlando. (Source)
