It's come full circle.
1. Elizabeth Maupin posted the "Frozen in Grand Central" video, made by the producers of Improv Everywhere, a New York-based improv/performance art/social commentary group.
2. I discovered they had a great social network for organizing local chapters, created an Orlando chapter and invited a bunch of people to it (ie: spammed my email list).
3. Word spread to the right people, the chapter started planning and pulled off their very first event: a freeze at Universal Orlando's City Walk on March 22, 2008!
Congrats to the Orlando crew (I don't think it has a name yet and I had nothing to do with this first stunt). A big thank you to Elizabeth Maupin for sharing the original video with her readers, also. Look what you started!
And it looks like a public musical is in the works next. Join the Orlando group and get into the fun: no improv/performing experience required.
