First show audience important: Orlando Fringe

Artists are aware that buzz starts early in the festival. If you can get people to your show early on, preferably your first show, and they like it, you have a shot at getting the word out through them.

This year, I've seen two groups with creative ways to get people to their opening performance.

The dance company Drip has a ton of schwag to give out at their opening performance including "art, Fringe tickets, Lululemon yoga-inspired clothing and beer tent tickets." Wow!



The new Orlando sketch group The Executives, formed by SAK's Chase Padgett, is making the audience breakfast for their opening.



If you hear of any other types of stunts to bring in first-performance audiences, let us know. And, if you attend either of the two mentioned, let us know how they went.
