Art in State Buildings Program: proposals for UCF

Art in State Buildings Program is now accepting submissions from artists to design a memorial to UCF Police Officers fallen in the line of duty. The piece will be placed in the exterior courtyard of the Public Safety Center at the University of Central Florida. $43,000 is allocated for this project. All applications must be postmarked by 5 p.m. Friday, February 27th, 2009. For full details, go here.

Established in 1979, Florida's Art in State Buildings Program acquires artwork for new public facilities built with state funds. It requires that up to .5% of the construction appropriation be set aside to acquire artwork for permanent display in the public areas in, on or around that facility. This includes construction at the state universities and colleges.
