Play in a Day: Jan 26 for $5

Play-in-a-Day brings together local and national writers, directors, and actors to conceive, write and perform a 10-minute play within 24 hours, culminating in an evening of unpredictable theatre. (Similar event: 24 Hour Plays) The short plays will then be performed Monday, January 26 at 7 p.m. at Orlando Shakes. Tickets are $5 with proceeds going to Playfest.

Writers: Kathleen Cahill (who has a piece in this year's PlayFest, 2009 Yale Drama Series Competition finalist Rob Anderson, Yale School of Drama grad Janet Allard, who will be writing over the web in Boston, UCF student Lindsay Cohen and Orlando legend Michael Wanzie.

Directors: Andy Felt, Laura Lippman, Rob Ward, Michael Gerber, and Orlando Shakes’ Intern Training Program participants Brad Roller and Nathan Gregory.

Actors: Orlando Shakes’ Intern Training Program participant Israel Scott, UCF MFA students Amanda Wansa and Chantry Banks, and local actors Joe Swanberg, Jamie Middleton, Jolie Hart, Chris McIntyre, Doug Bowser, Trenell Mooring, Brittany Berkowitz, Nick Wuerman and Jesse Lenoir.
