Call to Artists- Mural painters wanted

Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc. in cooperation with ArtistsRegistry.com, Inc. is seeking visual artists to design and paint 10 - 12 murals on the outside of their building located at 639 W. Central Blvd. A separate artist will be selected for each panel along the building. We want a mural that not necessarily identifies us as the Coalition, but perhaps a Florida or Orlando scene or maybe faces of the folks that we serve, or something that embraces the culture of the Parramore area in a positive way.

Deadline for submission is Wednesday April 15th 2009 at end of business day. This is a juried competition with no entry fee. Submissions, including samples of work and contact information, can be sent by email to Jeff@ArtistsRegistry.com or on a CD to Artists Registry.com, Inc., P.O. Box 140702 , Orlando , FL 32814 . Call Artists Registry.com at 407-803-6670 or Marty Vevera at the Coalition for the Homeless at 407-872-5784 for more information.

This is an opportunity for artists to give back to their community and to help those less fortunate than themselves. All paint and supplies will be provided by the Coalition. Each artist selected will be placed on the Orange County Registry of Art in Public Places. Each artist will also receive a one year Portfolio membership on Artists Registry.com.
Coalition for the Homeless of Central Florida, Inc.
Our mission at the Coalition for the Homeless is to address the needs of the homeless in our community and to serve as a catalyst for community collaboration to end homelessness.

The Coalition is able to help nearly 650 people each day, including men, women and children. As one of the few shelters that accept intact families in Central Florida , we see a large number of families in need of shelter and support. On any given night, the Coalition provides services to nearly 200 children, with an average age of seven years old. Last year, the Coalition served nearly 270,000 meals.

Our goal is to return our residents to self-sufficiency through counseling, job training, and educational programs. While our clients work to reestablish productive lives, we provide transitional housing and daycare for their children until they are ready to move back into the community.
