At the Orlando Science Center, your rock star dreams will come true thanks to a tricked out version of the video game, Rock Band. The creative team at the Orlando Science Center has taken the game experience to the next level, customizing the game to function using a real drum kit and placed the whole game on a real concert stage with real concert lights & sound. The set up is equipped with a huge library of over 100 songs The Rock Band Concert Stage was so popular at Otronicon "with crowds of people waiting in line hours to play," that the Science Center has decided to bring the activity back for a limited engagement this summer.
Saturday June 13 and 20 - Open Play from 1-9 p.m. Orlando Science Center (MAP | 777 E. Princeton Street, Orlando, 32803) is open 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. every Saturday, from June 13 to August 22. Open Play on the Rock Band Concert Stage is included with general admission to the Orlando Science Center, which is $17 for adults and $12 for kids (ages 3-11). Admission also provides access to the Science Center’s other exhibits and giant screen films. Come in the evening and jam out to Rock Band, and also enjoy a classic rock laser light show in the Dr. Phillips CineDome or get a peek at the stars through the telescopes in the Crosby Observatory.
