Alcohol 'neath the trees at Enzian

Enzian has this luscious tropical booze oasis/liquor jungle underneath towering oak trees called "Eden Bar" that is on my list of "places to take out-of-towners." I got to see it for the very first time last week when they had their Movie Club meeting about the anti-anti-gay gay movie Outrage.

The place is special and needs to appear in every brochure going out to tourists about the "real" Orlando. (By the way, I despise that phrase. The "real" Orlando. Everything here is "real," even if some of it is a little plastic. Its OUR plastic and its real plastic.)

Tonight is their weekly "Sessions" event, where local musicans jam and non-musicians talk over them. Tonight musicians Holly Riggs and Andy Matchett take to the stage 7:30pm. No idea what type of music they play or if they're any good. But if they suck, just tilt your head back and stare at the oaks, the sky, the Spanish moss, the low lighting and pretend you're in the "real" Orlando. Because you are.
