Nerdapalooza July 11-12

The nerds will rock! This July 11th and 12th, Orlando becomes the destination for all things nerdy as Nerdapalooza kicks off its third year.

Nerdapalooza is a two-day music festival dedicated to the celebration of all nerd music. It will take place the second weekend of July from noon to midnight on both days. Hosting almost 30 artists from across the U.S., the event will cost $20 for either day or $30 for the entire weekend and will take place at the Holiday Inn Convention Center on International Drive in Orlando, FL.

Last year’s Nerdapalooza Southeast 2008 was labeled “the World’s Geekiest Music Festival” and this year’s show looks forward to retaining that title. Also, like last year’s Nerdapalooza, this year is a charity show benefiting Child’s Play, and we will be donating all of the proceeds to that charity.
Featuring several genres that build the contemporary “nerd music” scenes, Nerdapalooza will be hosting none other than nerdy rap sensation, mc chris, featured on Adult Swim and the Warped Tour; as well as internationally acclaimed nerdcore rapper, MC Lars. Also joining the Nerdapalooza ranks are The Protomen (www.theprotomen.com) with their apocalyptic rock opera approach to the Mega Man franchise, and returning to Nerdapalooza is the godfather of nerdcore hip-hop, MC Frontalot.

This year’s Nerdapalooza is sponsored by Orlando based comic store, A Comic Shop; Florida online media production group, D3 Productions; and Florida nerdcore record company, EMPulse Records. Due to their contributions and continued support Nerdapalooza 2009 is going to be the most successful one yet.

Nerdapalooza is an independent music production group dedicated to promoting nerd music and nerd culture. They primarily do this through the annual large scale event, also called Nerdapalooza, but coordinate other events throughout the year. They have a strong partnership with EMPulse Records and A ComicShop, both of which assist in the promotion and production values of the events.
