Interactive Performance Jam comes to Orlando

The Orlando creative community is getting its own jam session. Orlando performers and the community at large are invited to join the Interactive Performance Jam at the UCF Center for Emerging Media, each Saturday in September andOctoberfrom 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The IPJam is offered by the Interactive Performance Lab and consists of an introductory workshop, a performance jam session, and concludes with an invitational workshop.

Coordinated by Jeff Wirth, Director of the Interactive Performance Lab, and directed by Curt del Principe, the IPJam will feature guest instruction by top inter-actors and directors from the Central Florida region. The IPJam is a drop-in experience and offered free of charge. Particpants do not have to attend every Saturday, and are welcome to show up at any time.

"What is Interactive Performance? "
Interactive Performance is live dramatic improvised fiction that puts willing participants at the heart of their own story. It is a growing art in the fields of entertainment, business, simulation, and education. If you'd like to know more, visit the Interactive Performance Lab website at www.iplonline.org.

"What is an Inter-actor?"
An Inter-actor is a performer trained to empower participants to play as the main character in fictional stories. The inter-actor's skill base includes acting, improvisation, story, psychology, and technology.

Introductory Workshop
Learn interactive performance skills from some of IPL's most experienced inter-actors. New skills taught each week. No prior experience required. (And free!)

11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m.
Jam Session
Practice and polish your interactive performance skills during the open jam session. Watch and learn as others hone their chops as well. Share new ideas, have fun, make new friends. Who knows who you'll wind up playing with?

1:00 - 2:00 p.m.
Invitational Master Workshop
Players who demonstrate significant skill during the Free Play Jam Session will be invited to participate in a master workshop that wraps up each Jam session. If you aren't chosen for the master workshop, you are still welcome to stay and observe. The better your skills, the better your chances of being invited.
