"This is an annual event celebrating the Mid Autumn Moon Festival that the community puts on. For more info about the festival visit: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Autumn_Festival. It's kind of a smaller cousin of the annual Lunar New Year festival in the spring. Usually the temples and churches put on smaller events and gear it towards children and have a lantern parade.There is no Moon Festival for 2009 unfortunately, and here's the explanation from a board member of the group that puts on this event:
Due to budget constraints this year however, we are not going to host the Orlando Moon Festival but instead in November we will be hosting a Asian American Youth Scholarship Gala at the downtown Sheraton which should be an amazing event as well.
