Each year animal advocates gather for an evening of delicious Vegan food, camaraderie, some of the best nationally known animal rights speakers, and raffle prizes called the "11th annual Holiday Dinner for the Animals." This year its Saturday December 12th, beginning at 6:00pm at Garden Café, located at 810 West Colonial Drive in downtown Orlando. Tickets are $25 in advance or $35 at the door. For the reduced ticket price, payments must be received by December 10th. Price includes dinner selections from 8 Vegan dishes and iced or hot tea. All proceeds will benefit Dogs Deserve Better. About the speaker: Tamira Ci Thayne (formerly Tammy Grimes) is founder and CEO of Dogs Deserve Better, an award-winning national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the chaining and penning of dogs, and bringing 'man's best friend' into the home and family.
Dogs Deserve Better has won numerous accolades, and was the first place winner of the 2003 Pet Protector Award from the ASPCA; Thayne was a top ten finalist for the 2006 Animal Planet Hero of the Year Award. Thayne is author of "Scream Like Banshee: 29 Days of Tips and Tales to Keep your Sanity as a Doggie Foster Parent", and editor of an upcoming Dogs Deserve Better rescue tales book.
