Farm to Table: Shakes hands with the farmers who grow the veggies you buy at our great farmers markets

OURlando has many projects: Green Business Alliance, Music Alliance, Ourlando Green Drinks and Local Food Alliance. And did you have ANY IDEA that they are the ones who produce the Audubon Park Community Market? These people from OURlando are busy!

Their latest live event is "Farm to Table" on Sunday, November 15, 12:30-2:30pm, at Enzian Movie Theatre (1300 S Orlando Ave, Maitland, FL 32751-6415 | MAP). The event allows you to meet, face to face, with the local farmers who grow the food you buy at many of Central Florida's farmers markets. You also get free food samples and admission to the screening of the documentary Food Fight. There will also be organically, fresh brewed beer by Orlando Brewery, fair trade coffee from Austin’s and assorted blends of tea from Dandelion Communitea, and more. Tickets are $18, available online, and include the film, hors d’oeuvres, beer, coffee and tea.

This event reminds me of the Toyota-sponsored national tour of farmers markets where they paired local chefs with local food and handed out samples. It was called Farm to Table.
