John (Buscemi) is an ex-gambler who now works for an insurance company. The same fateful day that he strikes up an amorous relationship with Jill (Silverman), his quirky, smiley face-obsessed co-worker, opportunity knocks in the form of a promotion to Fraud Investigator.
Not only does this necessitate John to put his budding love life on hold, it also requires that he shadow Virgil (Malco), the maverick superstar of Townsend Insurance on an investigation to Las Vegas to debunk the accident claim filed by Tasty D. Lite (Chriqui), a wheelchair-bound stripper who’s looking to recover close to $200,000 in lost wages as she can no longer perform lap dances.
