Orlando's newest contemporary art gallery, BLANK SPACE (201 East Central Boulevard), welcomes national award-winning artist Derek Gores and his intoxicating twist on beauty. In his torn paper collages, Gores recycles maps, magazines, wine labels and more to create his lush portraits on canvas. The show opens Thursday, March 25, 2010 at 6:00pm and runs until Monday, April 19, 2010. The artist will be at opening night.
Gores exhibits coast to coast, recently showing at the Manifest Equality exhibit in LA, with Gallery Provocateur in Chicago, and at the Elliott Fouts Gallery in Sacramento. Derek lives in Melbourne and is part of the bold team that just finished up Robot Love 2.0.
Gores was honored in 2009 to be selected for the Manifest Hope DC exhibit prior to the Presidential Inauguration, and has also just joined the nationally known Thinkspace Gallery in LA.
Also a professional designer, Gores clients include Kings of Leon, ESPN, Lenny Kravitz, Madonna, Reebok and more.
