Floyd's 99 Rock N Roll Barbershop Brought to Orlando by Former Athlete

Katy Perry used one in a video. HBO Entourage used one in an episode. The first shop opened in Denver in 2001 and now there are 42 locations of Floyd's 99 in 10 states. Starting March 11, 2010, that list will include Orlando.

After injuries ended his promising career in major league baseball, Kyle Sleeth, former starting pitcher for the Detroit Tigers, will open up a Floyds 99 March 11, 2010 at 3150 South Orange Ave., Orlando.

Described as "a rock n’ roll retreat of black leather barber chairs, flat screened TVs, internet stations, music broadcast from their own radio station and walls polluted with posters," the shop hired 15 locals and plans to hire up to 100 for the future Central Florida locations they plan on opening.

Cuts start at $15 and come with a free shoulder and neck massage. Old fashioned straight razor shaves come with hot towel treatment. The shop takes walk-ins and color by appointment. Men, women and children are welcome and their customer-friendly worldview means they’re open 9m to 9pm M-F | 9am to 8pm on Saturday | 11am-6pm on Sunday. Phone 407-601-5960.
