NOW Sustainable Fashion Show

IMG_3539"The majority of clothing that Americans buy is from sweatshops around the world, where workers are paid as little as six cents an hour and work ten to twelve hour shifts in dangerous factories. Even in the United States, an estimated 75% of clothing made here is made from sweatshops. Furthermore, purchasing items from unsustainable sources contributes to the degradation of our environment."

The National Organization for Women at UCF is trying to address these problems by bringing awareness to them in their very first sustainable fashion show. Secondhand, vintage, handmade, local and sweatshop free items will show students how easy it can be to buy sustainably. Thursday, April 15, 2010, 7-9pm, UCF campus, Communications 101
