An email from the owner of downtown's Blank Space Art Lounge announcing the creation of an "Orlando Art Incubator"
We are finally here! Thank you all for the interest in helping create a vibrate downtown corner for artist! As many of you know every Thursday and Friday Blankspace will be open to any artist interested in exhibiting artwork inside and outside and working, painting, sculpting, designing live in space.
Guidelines to Exhibit:
1. First come first serve from hours of 10am-11pm. Thu/Fri
2. There is a exterior edge along entire facade to place work. You must provide your own methods of
hanging or displaying. Please bring your easels, racks, nails hammer etc.
3. There is one wall space that is available. Along projector wall. The featured wall is for featured monthly artist curated by Melanie pace. (new director)
4. YOU MUST BE PRESENT. We are not responsible for work.
5. YOU MUST perform paint and create a piece of art within your duration of time or at least for an hour. We are not just giving free retail space away. Its about the public being able to find a place of performing artist.
The space is free! We ask if you do sell you provide a small donation of your choice to pay for bathroom suppl es etc... But in general it is an honor system at this point.
PLEASE encourage people to come by!!!!! and most importantly lets have fun and raise Orlando as a vibrant artist community
FYI: Thur/Fri/Sat night we will have free draft beer (limit 2 per person)
KARAOKE is FRIDAY NIGHT.
Please let me know what days you will be present and times so I can get an idea. We are issuing a press release so please be here those first two days if you could. i understand some have day jobs so please let me know who can show up during the day.
