Mark Baratelli



Mark Baratelli, Publisher of The Daily City newspaper and blog, has won the following recognition:

  • Inducted into the 2015 Culinary Hall of Fame by the Orlando Sentinel
  • Won the "40 Under 40" award from Orlando Business Journal
  • Nicknamed “Orlando's Food Truck Baron” by Orlando Sentinel “The Pied Piper of Food Trucks” by Orlando Business Journal
  • Named #39 Most Well-Known Local Celebrity in Orlando by Orlando Sentinel

...all for creating the nations original food truck tour: The Daily City Food Truck Bazaar. Baratelli turned “food trucks in a parking lot” into a 9-city, 40-truck, four-year-old company with over 500 events under its belt. Orlando City Soccer, Orlando Magic and Orlando Predators have chosen the company as their official food truck provider. 

The Daily City Food Truck Bazaar won the following awards: 
  • 2012 Best Local Food Event from Edible Orlando Magazine 
  • 2012 Best Monthly Event from YELP Orlando
Baratell's brand new venture, the pocket newspaper, started getting distributed at each location of The Daily City Food Truck Bazaar. 1,000 copies per month are handed out for free. 

His blog he started in 2007, TheDailyCity.com, won 2015 Best Community Blog at the Florida Sunshine Blog Awards in February 

For his work creating the local arts events Mobile Art Show, Meeting of the Orlando Minds and the Orlando Improv Festival, the Orlando Weekly said, "If everyone in Orlando who claims to care about the arts had 1 percent of [Mark] Baratelli’s energy and commitment, this city would be a world culture capital." That same newspaper named him 2010 Best Arts Advocate and 2011 + 2012 Best Local Cheerleader for these local arts events.

Unveiled at Mayor Buddy Dyer's State of Downtown at the Amway Center and later to be hung inside City Hall, this piece of art showcases local community giving. IT was created for Mayor Dyer's "Why I Love Orlando" campaign. A plaque next to it explains what each person has given to the city.
