There's a fantastic lineup of talent at a cabaret TONIGHT at 8pm at Put A Cork In It (7339 W Sand Lake Rd. Orlando, 32819): Jenn Warren, Luerne Herrera, Bert Rodriguez and Chris Leavy Admission is ten bucks.
Art Show Opening: Jessica Earley 7-11pm
Jessica Earley (Audience Choice Awards, Blunder Bungle, Interview) has her first solo show *ever* tonight (June 11, 2010) 7-9pm at Taste (717 W Smith Street). Free admission. Drink specials. She describes the show as this: "There will be boobies, there will be babies, there will be blood (really)."
Release Party: The Jernigan Post
The Jernigan Post is a new local publication about Orlando and their release party,"The Jernigan Post Release Gala," is June 11, 2010 8pm-11pm, at Culture Mart (225 N Magnolia Avenue, Orlando, FL). No alcohol and bring your own snacks.
"Come hang out with The Jernigan Post staff and some of our friends as we celebrate the release of the first issue! There will more fun than we can even tell you about! Expect: Music, fun, a few snacks (If you really love us, you'll bring a couple of snacks too!), some girl galavanting about as a gypsy, dancin', and our B-Side friends doin' their B-Side thing It's a good hang out to celebrate the start of a positive adventure. First Part is a clothing swap! Bring all your clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc that have been your closet forever that you just don't wear anymore, have grown out of, or was just never right for you to begin with and we will swap! Bring your old stuff. Bring home some new stuff. Second part of the Party is a vintage shop. We are going to have a Lovely collection of Vintage Sellers. Get yourself loaded with the Best Vintage and Handmade. Maybe even pick up gift for those special in your life.
We will have a little wine while you browse and shop. So you should dress in something classy and we will have a photographer on hand to snap pictures of us in what we find or buy!If you like bring something to snack on! The more the merrier so please invite all of your stylish friends! If you can drop off your items to the house anytime earlier than the day of that will be grand, just so that it can be somewhat organized.
