Call to artists from Video SketchFest. Video SketchFest is designed to highlight the innovative and avant-garde—think Monty Python, Kids In The Hall, Mr. Show, Dave Chappelle, Stella, Tim & Eric, Trailer Park Boys. If you do a spot-on Sarah Palin impersonation, good for you!
But we don’t want to see it.
The Benefitz: If your video is selected it will be listed in our fancy program and will be seen by lots of people who will talk to lots of other people. Seriously though, Youtube has oceans of content and it’s difficult to get spotted in those waters. The goal of Video SketchFest is to get your material in front of audiences who are hungry for good sketch comedy. If they enjoy your stuff, they’ll spread the word. Also, it’s another beautiful feather for your resume cap.
The Rulz: The deadline for video submission is October 1, 2010. Any submissions received after this date will not be accepted. Submissions must be sent as a playable DVD—no other formats will be accepted. A maximum of 4 videos may be submitted per person/group. Videos should be under five minutes each. We reserve the right to edit any submission for running time. Not all submissions will be included in the showcase (unfunny ones will be set on fire).
Spread the Word: Help us help sketch comedy! Do you have local comedy friends who might also be interested in submitting their Sketch Comedy? Then tell 'em about it! Forward this email to them and you will get ten bonus* points. (*Bonus points good for nothing.)"
The Venuz: Video SketchFest is held at Gallery at Avalon Island in beautiful downtown Orlando. The next showcase will take place on Thursday, October 14, 2010 @ 8:30pm. Admission $6
