Artist Bio:
As a child Rustin Robinson was surrounded by the artistic influences of his mother and grandmother and quickly realized that art would play a big part in his life. After attending Ringling School of Art in Design for two years, Rustin moved to New Orleans to work for a local artist and mentor David Harouni. He gained a great deal of experience in his time as manager of Harouni's gallery and began to create a collection of art to show in small cafes and galleries. Two and a half short years later, hurricane Katrina forced Rustin to relocate to Orlando, Florida.
In his time in Orlando, Rustin has continued to show his artwork and began entering into local art contests to help push him to create new pieces. He was the winner of the 2009 Scan Design "Fall Into Furniture Love" contest, and had his winning piece displayed in Florida Design Magazine. His most recent works were sold at the 2010 Nude Nite event.
As an emerging artist, Rustin aims to make great artwork affordable. His current focus is on using recycled materials and applying techniques that allow him to create high quality pieces that he himself could afford. Other significant influences include artists such as Johannes Vermeer and Euan Uglow.
