The Orlando Fringe Festival puts on an annual fundraiser called "All Hallows Eve" in October, but in 2011, to celebrate the festival's 20th anniversary, this fundraiser has been renamed "All Hallows 20 For 20." The event is double themed: Halloween and "Gothic Prim." (Aren't all proms gothic? There's always that coven of black-wearing, eye-lined goths at the prom complaining about the music. I guess this event will be an entire ROOM of them.)
This fundraiser is at Orlando Shakes (812 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL 32801) Saturday, October 23, 2010. Show up at 6pm for the Silent Auction or 7pm for the show. Tickets are twenty bucks.
Silent auction items include fabulous dinner and theatre packages, sporting event tickets, gift baskets, artwork, hotel and spa packages, museum packages, Broadway Across America tickets and more.
The costume contest winners receive "fabulously fringe prizes," the 2011 Fringe Mascots will be revealed and the 2011 "theme" for the festival will be announced.
Captain Discovery and the Escape to Planet O (the 2010 Fringe show that took place in a closet) will present the "World's Smallest Haunted House."
The amazing line-up includes: Tod Kimbro, Empty Spaces Theatre Company, Rob Ward & Superfriends, Chase Padgett, Janine Klein, Pepe, Mike Garvey, Becky Fisher, Brian Feldman, VarieTEASE, Tod Caviness' Poetry Smackdown, Wayburn Sassy & Didi Panche (of course), David Lee, Michael Wanzie, DRIP, Mark Baratelli (who?), Jeff Feree' and closet puppets, Rob Gee and Paul Strickland.
Tickets go on sale September 20, 2010. Call George Wallace at 407-648-0077 ext. 2. Mastercard, Visa, Discover, and American Express accepted.
