As part of Rollins College’s Founder’s Day 125th anniversary celebration on November 4, 2010, acclaimed author and technology consultant Clay Shirky will give a keynote address titled, “Creativity and Generosity in a Connected Age." Thursday, November 4, 2010, 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Alfond Sports Center (Rollins College, 1000 Holt Avenue, Winter Park, Fla. 32789).
Shirky is the author of Here Comes Everybody, a book which explores the digital revolution of collaboration and how it is changing organizations and industries.
Shirky will discuss Internet technologies (including, social networks) and their impact in creating a “cognitive surplus” of talent and intellect. The event is free and open to the public.
Also on hand will be Rollins faculty in full academic regalia and more than 2,000 Rollins students, faculty and alumni.
