About: As dusk falls, the audience for “Magnifique! A Voci Dance Glowing Fairy Fundraiser” gathers beneath Orlando’s oldest oak tree for an evening walking tour of the grounds of the Mennello Musuem of Art. Along the stroll, glowing fairies dance, glowing rings of mushrooms illuminate and music fills the air in a nighttime performance only dance company Voci Dance, artist Doug Rhodehamel and DJ Nigel John could dream up.

Refreshments, wine and a raffle will accompany the performance. All funds go to Voci Dance to support their many performances, workshops and community outreach programs they present throughout the year.

About Voci Dance: "Voci Dance Over the past 10 years, Voci Dance has grown strong roots in the Arts World of Central Florida. We continue to break boundaries, and communicate with you, our audience, through the movement of Modern Dance. We strive to educate our youth to stop the sedentary path, get up, get out and move! We are here to help keep the arts alive in Orlando, but we need your help to continue that mission."

About DJ Nigel: Nigel John is a local DJ that frequently works in and collaborates with the Central Florida arts community. Most recently he has worked with installation artist, Doug Rhodehammel, creating soundscapes for “Night of A 1,000 Jellyfish”, “a. thunderstorm” and “a.larve”. He also worked with Voci Dance at iMove in 2009, Cocktails and Cosmos at the Orlando Science Center, and Voci’s Open Studio.

About Doug Rhodehamel: Doug Rhodehamel grew up in centerville ohio and is therefore a buckeye. He moved to orlando in 1993 and is the guy responsible of all those paper bag mushrooms. He also makes stuff. He has collaborated with Voci Dance for the Orlando Science Center’s ‘Cocktails & Cosmos’ nights with his plastic bag jellyfish and florescent schools of fish. When he’s not doing that, he can be found archiving his lifetime of hairstyles or going up in space. (live in florida long enough and they’ll let anyone on a shuttle.)
