Bach Festival Society Brings Barry Douglas' Camerata Ireland Orchestra and Irish Soprano Celine Byrne to Winter Park
Irish pianist Barry Douglas, his orchestra Camerata Ireland and Irish soprano Celine Byrne will tour the US March 2011 with stops in New York City, Nashville, Sarasota, Illinois, Indiana and Winter Park. The Winter Park stop, thanks to Bach Festival Society, is on March 13th, 4pm at Tiedtke Concert Hall at Rollins College (1000 Holt Avenue, Winter Park, FL 32789). For tickets call 407-646-2182.
The orchestra is under the artistic and musical direction of acclaimed pianist and conductor Barry Douglas, and is entirely comprised of exceptionally talented Irish musicians, many of whom also play in top positions in other premier orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra. Camerata Ireland is unique in that it enjoys the honor of the joint patronage of Mary McAleese, President of Ireland and HRH Queen Elizabeth II.
Programs will include works by Rossini, Mozart, Field, Bunting and Barber. Internationally acclaimed Irish soprano Celine Byrne will appear as guest artist.
