See Inside Lake Eola Fountain

On Thursday June 9, 2011, Mayor Buddy Dyer and Commissioner Patty Sheehan boarded the Lake Eola fountain for a tour and work-along during it's $1.6 million renovation. They worked with construction staff to help secure and seal the green acrylic panels that form the skin of the fountain and helped secure piping that will be used to control the sprayers and water jets on the fountain.

When complete, the fountain will sport more than 200 LED lights, 75 new green acrylic panels, lightning protection, electrical and mechanical upgrades and pump replacement. Also, the new fountain will also have sound system coordination capabilities which will allow for water and light displays choreographed to music played through Lake Eola Park’s recently upgraded sound system.

You can see the newly renovated fountain and a "patriotic water, light and sound show" for the very first time on July 4, 2011 immediately following the fireworks.
