THE RAPTURE play The Beacham Theatre on Tuesday, October 18th. Tickets.

I'm sure I can't be the only person out there whose college experience in the mid-2000s was heavily defined by 'Echoes', the debut album by The Rapture. Every weekend for three years, we'd end up at a club or a party where 'House of Jealous Lovers' or 'Sister Savior' was making everyone dance like an idiot. (I used to be a lot more cool and social. Sigh.) Their second album had some great moments, too, like 'Whooo! Alright! Yeah! Uh-Huh!'

And then they disappeared for a few years, during which time their lead singer left the band, their bass player left the band, their lead singer returned to the band, and then they made the new record, 'In The Grace Of Your Love', which is out this week and, a couple of plays in, sounds pretty great. The lead single, 'How Deep Is Your Love' is totally terrific - Chicago-house pianos, plus Luke Jenner's yelp, and then the late-night sax. It's good to have them back. And they're always more fun live than on record, when everyone is totally unselfconscious and has no qualms about dancing like an idiot.

Get yourself into it, and get to this show.
