Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani Was in Orlando

The Frederick Leadership Initiative paid tribute to former U.S. Rep. and former Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum on Dec. 2 for his leadership and service by hosting a fundraising dinner in his honor. The event, held at the DoubleTree Orlando Downtown hotel, included memorable toasts from friends, family and former colleagues and a keynote speech by former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

All funds raised will benefit the Frederick Leadership Initiative, which was founded in 2005. FLI does not support any particular political candidate, elected official, issue, political party or ideology. The organization’s mission is to connect the talent base within the Orlando community so that a network of future leaders is fostered, issues related to governance are discussed, knowledge of public service opportunities are increased and an emerging group of informed and engaged residents is created.

The host committee included co-chairs Shannon Gravitte, vice president of government and community affairs at Mears Transportation; and Rick Walsh, president of the Knob Hill Group and board member of the UCF Foundation. The event planner was Leah Shepherd with Thompson Wesley Wolfe.
