The eager young hackers (the innovative kind, not your illicit kind of hacker) are gearing up for Florida DrupalCamp 2012, a gathering of developers, graphics artists and database experts, to be held February 11 and 12, 2011 at Rollins College. For the 400 attendees expected, there will be lots of discussion for the technical set of the latest on Mobile Computing, Social Media, Cloud-based technologies, with the star of the show being the Drupal Open Source platform, a content management system and website builder much like WordPress.
With the Rollins Center of Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership co-sponsoring the conference, one of the key events is ‘Coding for a Cause’, a one-day hackathon during which one to three websites will be built for a few lucky Central Florida nonprofits. In previous years, Central Florida Drupalers built websites for the nonprofits, Junior Achievement and the Central Florida Computer Society.
Interested nonprofits can apply online. The submission deadline is Saturday, January 8.
