We were the first to report to you on December 19, 2011 that Williams Sonoma and Pottery Barn located in Florida Mall were shutting their doors. Seemed odd that two stores so well known and successful would close in the same time period. Our email to Florida Mall PR was not returned.
The next day Orlando Sentinel and WKMG Local 6 picked up the story.
Rumor was that two computer stores were going to take their place because along the same corridor sits an Apple store.
Turns out Apple is taking over both shuttered stores and **tripling** in size, according to TUAW.com:
"Apple store will sport a 90-foot storefront (it's 30 feet now) and grow from 2,700 square feet to 8,640."
