Terrible Portraits Art Show at Stardust @stardustie

Opening night of the art show "The Horrible Portraits Series Featuring the staff of Stardust Video & Coffee" is Friday March 16th 2012, 7pm - 11pm, at Stardust Video & Coffee (1842 East Winter Park Road, Orlando FL 32803). 

About: There is another Rhodehamel... Danny Rhodehamel, younger brother of Doug Rhodehamel. Unlike his older brother, Danny enjoys painting. His subject matter ranges from zen-like landscapes to cartoonish bumble bees. His imagery is colorful, expressive and sometimes playful. His portraits, however, are really bad. We're not talking good bad, we're talking horrible... hence the title. Oddly enough, they are also hilarious. He captures the essence of people... well, sort of, in a way which will cause many smiles and laughing of the "out loud" variety, especially if you know any of the Stardust staff members. 

As any artist knows, creation is often frustrating and boring at times. To combat this Danny Rhodehamel simply states,  "Sometimes you need to take a step back and paint really bad." It seems to work for him.

Danny has spent the past several years living in Colorado and has just recently plopped down to live in Orlando for a while.
