Readers thought a Burger King food truck was coming to Orlando to put down roots, do battle with the local trucks and ruin everything in the universe. Little did we know it had already come, nobody even knew, and the truck was just part of a national publicity tour.
Orlando Food Truck Guide
So where did it set up shop when it was here? A reader gave us the tip that it parked in the parking lot shared by the Orlando Museum of Art and Orlando Shakespeare Center. We contacted the marketing director for the Orlando Shakespeare Center, but she wasn't in the office when we called. We also contacted the the marketing director for the Orlando Museum of Art. She confirmed the presence of the truck in the parking lot and filled us in on the details below.
Why on earth did they choose that location?
I was told that the Burger King food truck showed up unanounced. Did Shakes or The Rep or the City of Orlando (who owns the parking lot) know they were coming?
I don't think anyone knew that the Burger King truck was showing up (although I have not spoken to Shakes or the City about it).

Did they sell food or hand out samples while parked there?
They yelled out at me as I was walking out of the OMA and offered me a free smoothie (being one of those annoying vegans I sarcastically asked if they had any soy smoothies) and declined…I was not happy about them being there, as you can imagine.
Did they come inside and let you know they were there?
They did not let anyone at the OMA know that they were there (which accounts for the lack of line or buzz) but the front desk did let everyone know and a handful of staff ventured outside for their free smoothie.
Did they disrupt any activities at the museum?
It was a slow day at the museum, the parking lot was virtually empty and as far as I know, nobody came to Loch Haven park specifically for the truck. I also suggested that they should move their truck to a more trafficked/visible area (e.g. Park on Mills across the park).
Was there any feedback from museum guests about it?
No feedback from museum patrons as far as I know...
