Crealdé School of Art's 16th Annual Benefit Auction is Saturday, September 22, 2012, 6-10pm, at the Winter Park Community Center (721 West New England Avenue) next door to Crealdé’s second campus, the Hannibal Square Heritage Center. The center is dedicated to the art, history and culture of Winter Park’s African-American community.
Tickets are $50 and can be purchased online or by calling 407-671-1886
The evening's event is themed “Art Is In Everything" and will feature live art demonstrations and a 100-piece auction of original works.
Money raised through the auction will support Crealdé’s outreach programs, arts education and heritage preservation efforts, which directly affect more than 100,000 Central Floridians and visitors each year. They offer free art instruction to underprivileged children, at-risk teens and low-income seniors.
Upon arriving at the benefit, guests will be greeted by Crealdé’s Youth Ambassadors, ages eight to 10, adorned in French artist costumes. Inside, guests will enjoy great food and wine while bidding on original paintings, sculptures, ceramics and photography created by top local and national artists and watching Crealdé faculty demonstrating painting and wheel throwing.
In addition to original art items, the auction will also include many unique, non-art items donated by local businesses and community members. The evening begins with live music from a steel drum band playing outside on the lawn. Inside, enjoy jazz music from the Chuck Archard Quartet featuring vocalist Suzy Park, who has performed with Yanni, Tito Nieves and David Sanborn.
