Black Bean Deli proves small is good, so what about that Colonial and Mills building?

On the very busy corner of Colonial and Mills Ave in the heart of the Mills50 district now sits one of the worst eyesores in the area.  The former home of Anthony's Pizza now sits empty and dilapidated.  Anthony's Pizza moved only a few hundred feet away into a much larger building with parking, indoor seating, and a small outdoor patio along Colonial Drive.  The issue with their former location is it's lack of size for a true dining room and lack of parking.  Before Anthony's Pizza occupied the space another delivery company, Steak Out, was there.  Now though the 1,592sq ft building on a .11 acre site creates a unattractive focal point that takes away from all the lovely work that has happened on the other corners of the intersection and throughout the district including the lovely Hats and Heels mural and the art boxes.

Just down the street Black Bean Deli proves that small buildings shouldn't stop good businesses from succeeding.  The former Vega's Cafe space that they are taking over for their second location is only 1340sq ft and yet there the size doesn't seem to be a problem.  Though admittedly parking is much less of an issue with the Black Bean Deli site.

Hopefully someone will soon notice this great little building in the epicenter of Mills50 and in the meantime can the building at least get a fresh coat of paint or some art to improve it?
