Walt Disney World has partnered with Harvest Power to build a biogas power plant on their property. The new plant will use a number of organic materials including "skimmings from a lift station," food waste, primate manure with bedding, grease trap waste, and "other forms of biosolids."
The permit (Application #120907-12, Permit #48-00714-P) pulled with Southwest Florida Water Management District shows that the power plant is going in behind the Coronado Springs resort just north of Animal Kingdom (close to all that primate manure). But don't worry because all the concerns with air quality have been addressed and "the Department has reasonable assurance that the proposed project" will not affect air quality. So while your waste will be powering aspects of Walt Disney World you won't be forced to smell or see it.
