EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival | Florida Local tastes celebrated

Today is the first day of the always popular EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival presented by Chase.  (I won’t go into a long rant about the whole ‘presented by Chase’ part of the official name as Scott Joseph has already.)  On top of the normal selections at this year’s event there are also a few new countries, er, booths to visit.  The one I’m most excited about is the Florida Local booth that features food and beverages from right here in the Sunshine State.

The menu at Florida Local features two culinary and four beverage offerings.  The White Corn Arepa with Mangalitsa Pork Rillette and Zellwood Sweet Corn Salad ($4.00) seemed to be a hit with Orlando Theme Park News as they claimed they couldn't get enough of it.  Scott Joseph seemed to like the Florida Shrimp Ceviche with Fire Roasted Vegetables, Fried Plantains and Cilantro ($4.25) noting that the shrimp was firm and the dish had a “pleasant citrusy taste that was accented nicely by the fresh cilantro.”

The beverage offerings  at the booth include Florida Beer Company’s Florida Lager and Key West Southernmost Wheat along with Florida Orange Grove’s Key Limen and Hurricane Class 5, Florida White Sangria.  So for now drinking around the world can begin with some tastes from right here at home.
