The City or Orlando is celebrating the City’s third annual
National Public Lands Day this Saturday, September 29th, from 8 a.m.
to 7p.m. at Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake. The park has numerous activities for
visitors including animal farm, hiking biking, playground, swimming pool, beach
tennis, sand volleyball, disc golf and the Nature Connect Trail, a ¼ mile trail
of art, music and climbing. There will
also be volunteering opportunities between 9a.m. and 11a.m. There will also be
free trees given to volunteers as a thank you for their service.
This is the 19th annual National Park Lands
Day. The event is nationwide day focused
on improving and restoring the lands and facilities that Americans use for
recreation, education and enjoyment.
Last year more than 150,000 volunteers in all 50 states participated in
events connected to the day.
