City of Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer will deliver his 2012 State of Downtown Address on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, on the floor of the Amway Center. This annual event held by the Downtown Orlando Partnership provides a forum for Mayor Dyer to reiterate his goals to strengthen Orlando and Downtown as well as share the City’s progress on the revitalization of Downtown Orlando.

This year’s topic will focus on the City’s Green Works Orlando initiative and will be highlighted by featured speaker, Nancy Sutley, Chair of the White House Council on Environmental Quality, who will speak about the role of the federal government in partnership with cities like Orlando to develop and meet sustainability goals.
At this year’s address, Mayor Dyer will also announce the launch of the next phase of Green Works Orlando – community engagement and planning. This sustainability plan will serve as a road map to steer future policies, developments and investments.
