Here in Central Florida sunscreen is just a part of life. No matter what time of year it is you should always wear sunscreen when outside for any type of prolonged period. Just make sure it's not Banana Boat's Ultramist sunscreen which they announced a recall on yesterday. The sunscreen seems to protect you from sunburn but not all burn as it catches people on fire when exposed to an open flame. The AP is reporting it happened to five times in the last year in North America alone. The cases do seem rare but still disconcerting.
The reason for the flammability is the aerosol ingredients in the spray do not dry soon enough due to the spray valve allowing to much of the ingredients too be sprayed at a time.

The recall includes aerosol products like UltraMist Sport, UltraMist Ultra Defense and UltraMist Kids. St. Louis-based
Energizer Holdings, who Banana Boat is owned by, said it has notified the Food and Drug Administration
about the recall, which it undertook voluntarily. Consumers
who purchased the products are being told not to use them. More
information is available from the manufacturer at 1-800-SAFESUN.
