With only six days left till Election Day, early voting is now in full swing across Florida. Early voting began Saturday and by the end of the weekend over a half a million Floridians had already early voted, not even including the over 1 million who had sent in absentee ballots.
In a state where just a decade ago 538 votes decided the election, every vote counts. Right now the in Orange County Democrats (21,328) have are more than double the amount of early voting than Republicans (10,049) with 7,348 registered as other. The same trend stands in Volusia as well with Dems at 9,578, Repubs at 6,047, and other at 3,857. In Brevard the race is a bit closure with last nights numbers coming in as Dems at 7,289, Repubs at 6,056, and others at 2,822.
Early voting began October 27, 2012 and runs through November 3rd from 7AM to 7PM. After that, the only way to vote is in person at your polling station November 6th.
No matter when you vote make sure to have government issued identification along with signature identification (such as a Driver's license). Make sure to check the location before going to vote, as some locations are now reporting lines longer than 2 hours. Still though these 2 hour long lines may still be shorter than what we might see on Election Day itself.
