Why Not Spend An Evening With General Robert E Lee and Ulysses S Grant

By Ken Storey

Just a few weekends ago I wrote about a great evening with stories by Central Florida's Storyteller Joe Rosier.  Well tonight and tomorrow he has another great event where he will go beyond basic storytelling and instead will take you back in time through his excellent acting and eloquent storytelling as he brings to life Ulysses S. Grant and General Robert E Lee.

Tonight Rosier becomes General Lee  circa June 1870 at Lexington, Va.  The evening has General Lee reflecting on his military service and his decision to lead the South through four years of fighting the Civil War.

Then tomorrow Rosier takes a second perspective as he brings to life Ulysses S. Grant at the setting of the 40th Reunion of the Class of 1843 at the U.S. Military Academy, West Point, New York on June 15, 1883 in which General Grant recounts “his early life, his military career, and his relationship with General Robert E. Lee”

Along with the historically accurate plays there will be a question and answer session after each.

The two night event is hosted at the Lowndes Shakespeare Center in Loch Haven Park.  Showtime each night is 7:30 PM.

Tickets are $18 per show, or $32 for both; students pay $12 or $20 for both.  For more info call
