While Winter Park has numerous events throughout the year being a car person one of my favorites each year is the Winter Park Concours d’Elegance. The Concours features over 120 prestigious cars, many of which are extremely rare and has become one of the most highly-regarded, judged exotic car shows in the United States. There are a number of events throughout the weekend but the most popular is the Sunday car show that stretches along six blocks of Park Ave.
Now in it's 11th year the event lines Park Ave with some of the most expensive, rarest, and most unique cars in the world. Not just a few of them but often time multiples of each year and model. World-renowned experts in specialty-marquee automobiles judge the cars featured and declare winners in the late afternoon. Some booths selling merchandise and giving out community information are also included. The event is free and will take place November 11th. There is also a Friday night, October 9th, event, sponsored by duPont Registry, at the Orlando Executive Airport. The duPont Registry Live Aeroport Reception event features live entertainment, fine food, wine stations, and for the first time this year Battle of the Heavyweights gives attendees a chance to ride in a sports car, either domestic or import, as it speeds down the runway at the airport (a donation of $50 on top of the ticket price is required for the ride). Tickets for this event are $125 and the event runs from 7PM-10PM with the Battle of the Heavyweights ride running from 5PM-10PM.
