The UCF student newspaper Central Florida Future is reporting that 4 Rivers (website) will be opening a new location near UCF Oct 1, 2013.
The Winter Park based BBQ chain has seen rapid expansion since it first opened three years ago. In less than three years the BBQ sensation has opened in two other locations with plans for at least three more in the next year.
The original location moved to an much larger building a few months ago but still has lines on daily basis.
The UCF location will employ between 70 and 80 people and will feature an expanded Sweet Shop,
Two of the other locations company plans to in 2013 are outside of Central Florida in Gainsville and Jacksonville in 2013. John Rivers is quoted in the article as stating this will be the last Orlando location and that he hadn't planned on opening this location but demand has been strong for a UCF area location.
The same article also reports a new Graffiti Junktion will also open in the same area this coming Spring. Perhaps they will bring along their beer can Christmas tree. The new location will have the extended hours just like the other locations. The new Graffiti Junktion will employ between 30 and 50 people. This will be the fifth location for the local Graffiti Junktion chain. On top of the original in Thornton Park the burger hangout also has locations in College Park, Clermont, and Lake Mary.
