Each April the Winter Park Paint Out helps continue the long tradition of Plein Air painting with a number of unique and exciting events. The 2013 Winter Park Paint Out, April 21-April 28, will be a stellar year with so many events that they actually kick-off even before the event itself does. The day before the event on April 20th Polasek will host a special day with lecture and presentation by Florida Highwaymen member Kelvin Hair. The demonstration and lecture begins at 1pm on the museum grounds. Hair was selected by Governor Rick Scott as the 2012 Black History Month artist.
On April 24th a sunset Paint-Out will take place along the shores of Lake Killarney at Hillstone Restaurant from 6pm till 9pm. Now in it's fifth year the Hillstone 'paint-in' will include artists scattered along the shoreline complimenting Hillstone's lovely gardens and shoreline.
