Kris Allen (Facebook, Twitter) played in Orlando on Wednesday night as part of his Out Alive tour with opening act Jillette Johnson.
American Idol Season 8 winner Kris Allen played a memorable show on Wednesday night at BackBooth. Kris performed songs from both of his albums such as “Out Alive”, “Better With You”, “Monsters”, “Live Like We’re Dying” and “Red Guitar”. He performed covers of songs by Tom Petty and The White Stripes and performed a new song tentatively titled “Paul Simon” that he said will more than likely be on his next album.
Kris displayed great stage presence and is an excellent singer. The crowd energetically sang and danced along with Kris. Throughout the show, Kris interacted with the crowd and talked about his injury from a recent car accident, entering fatherhood, a recent visit to Disney and made shout outs to fans in the crowd. After over an hour of performing, Kris and his bandmates left the stage after thanking the crowd for attending the show. Fans clapped and yelled for them to return to the stage and they did. They played three encore songs. In addition, Kris talked about his experience in Kenya and his involvement with the child sponsorship program World Vision. Highlights of the show consisted of Kris’s
performances of “Monster” and “Live Like We’re Dying” and Kris’s duet of “Loves Me Not” with Jillette Johnson and a cappella performance of Garth Brook’s song “The River”. At the end of the show, Kris promised the crowd he would return to Orlando at the end of the year and fans reacted with excitement and cheering.
