Space Shuttle Columbia 10th Anniversary Event at Kennedy Space Center

It was ten years ago that the Space Shuttle Columbia sadly broke apart over Texas during re-entry.  On February 1, 2013 at 10am Kennedy Space Center and The Astronauts Memorial Foundation will be holding a ceremony honoring the crew of seven crew members of space shuttle Columbia STS-107 at the edge of the Space Mirror Memorial.  BeBe Winans will be singing two songs, “Star Spangled Banner” and “Ultimate Sacrifice,” from her latest album "America America."

Eight speakers are lined up for the event including Evelyn Husband-Thompson, widow of Colonel Rick Husband, commander space shuttle Columbia STS-107.  Kennedy Space Center Visitors Complex will provide flowers to be placed at the memorial for ceremony guests and visitors throughout the morning.
