Amazing New Andrew Spear Mural Brightens Mills50

If you've driven down Mills Ave through Mills50 lately you've probably seen the latest work of Andrew Spear.  On the wall in front of the Forbidden City Chinese Restaurant at the corner of Weber St and Mills Ave the mural is pretty hard to miss.  It adds a new level of funky fun to the district and brightens a wall that many have never even noticed.

Spear is known for his bright, street art inspired works that have been featured everywhere from MTV's Real World (he did the murals inside the Hard Rock penthouse that the show used in 2011 season) to Juxtapoz where he was featured as a featured artist.  After living from coast to coast Spear settled down here in Orlando and owns a scenic and design firm, Metro Finishes.  His work has been featured at CityArt Factory in downtown and he did that amazing mural on the side of the Hideaway Bar over on Virginia Ave (that mural has captivated me so badly before that it almost caused me to crash).  Both the former Sam Flax (corner of Shine Ave and Colonial)  and the current one feature his murals where he used art supplies to capture the feel of Orlando.  His work is also featured in the Japan area of World Showcase at Epcot.

We're lucky to have such a talented artist not only living here in Orlando but helping make the area better by having his bold and beautiful murals throughout our great city.
