Orlando International Airport news is a mixed bag, but don't expect any expensive sunglasses (those are banned)

Traffic in 2012 at the Orlando International Airport was flat for 2012 with total traffic in 2012 coming in at 35.3 million, down 0.4 percent from 2011 according to a report released by the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.  The report shows an 8.1% increase in international travel with 3.8million while on the domestic side numbers showed a 1.3% decrease with 31.5 million.

While the numbers aren't inspiring another recent report does give the airport something to celebrate.  CNN.com is reporting that Travel Leaders Group conducted a survey of 930 Travel Leaders Group owners, managers and other travel experts in the United States and MCO has come out as the best airport in the nation for kids.  The airport is about to get a new larger Universal Studios retail store that will offer many of the exclusive items found only in Orlando.  The contract though does ban Sunglasses over $50 in retail price, Lingerie, Fine jewelry priced over $100.00, and oddly enough Florida seafood and citrus products.

So it looks like MCO will be a great place to take the kids with about the same crowd levels but don't go expecting to buy a nice pair of sunglasses or some local citrus.
