Green Destination Orlando, an initiative dedicated to sustainable tourism in Central Florida, will commemorate Earth Hour on Saturday, March 23, 2013 by switching off non-essential lighting 8:30-9:30 p.m. The following locations will be participating:
- Orange County Convention Center
- The Hilton Orlando
- Doubletree by Hilton Orlando at Sea World
- The Peabody Orlando
- The Peabody Orlando will serve a three-course Earth Hour dinner at Napa for $39.95 per person. For the occasion, the restaurant known for its sustainable farm-to-fork cuisine will dim and switch off lighting where ever possible and create a new Earth Hour ambiance with special battery-operated LED lights. Napa will also feature the hotel’s signature Rocks Burning cocktail for $10. For dinner reservations, please call 407.345.4570.
- Also at The Peabody Orlando, on the rooftop Garden Terrace, locals and guests are invited to participate in candlelit yoga. Our instructor will lead participants in a series of sun salutations to relax, rejuvenate and express gratitude to the environment. To participate, call The Spa at 407.345.4431.
- The Doubletree by Hilton at SeaWorld will host a candlelight dinner with glow-in-the-dark cocktails and wine. Proceeds from the dinner will benefit their “plant a tree” campaign. The hotel will also show a movie at the pool and provide kids activities to commemorate Earth Hour.
- The Hilton Orlando will serve a candlelight dinner at Spencer’s For Steaks and Chops. Dinner will feature a discount on the Green Apple Martini.
